Oscar Night

It was Oscars night, and what do we all look for first?  WHAT ARE THEY WEARING!!  There was alot of gold, alot of pale skin and alot of pale colors!  Here are my hits for the night:

Cameron Diaz.  My NUMBER ONE pick for the night!  You looked STUNNING my dear!

Kate Winslet.  This looked a little matronly on you, but I liked the color and the fit, the nice hair, the subtle accessories, and the pale skin.

Sandra Bullock.  I loved it, even though it did look a bit like an ice skating outfit.  But the Olympics are over, so you can wear whatever you like, because you are a winner!  The lipstick was a little too dark, but you looked great and it was YOUR night!  Congratulations!

Amanda Seyfried.  Hit    Jennifer Lopez.  Miss
Too much bustle going on there!

Now for the misses:

Charlize Theron.  You know you are a beauty.  You don't need to bring attention to the tatas here!  Even if it did flow down to the train, this just did not work.

Miley Cyrus.  Not enough cleavage to pull off this number.  Too tight and too low in the bust!

Zoe Saldana.  Did you not get the memo that PALE was in??  It looks great on the top, but WHAT in the world is happening down below!?!!!  ugh!

And now, what was up with the HAIR last night???  Here are the total HAIR misses!

Anna Kendrick.  You are young!  Look it!

Sarah Jessica Parker.  They sell White Rain hair spray at the dollar store!

Kristen Stewart.  SMILE!!  This frown does NOTHING for you!!  And neither does the hair.

George Clooney.   My main love...   The long DO has GOT to go!

Zac Ephron.  Oh, Zac...you are a young cute boy, but THIS is the Oscars!!  COMB YOUR HAIR!!

A few misses of another sort, are Farrah Fawcet, missed from the memorial lineup, and Scarlett Johansson was missed on the arm of her man Ryan Reynolds.  I also think they missed with the Best Picture win.  Never heard of The Hurt Locker!   All in all, most outfits and hairstyles were hits.  I LOVE the Oscars!!  You all do not disappoint!

The Golden Globes

Did you watch the Golden Globes last night?  It was actually pretty good, I thought.  I love watching E! to see what the celebrities are wearing.  How do you like Olivia Wilde's dress?  One of the best of the night, I thought.  Can Gucci ever do any wrong?  I don't think so!

Another that I liked was Emily Blunt.

Simply Stunning!!  I believe it was a Christian Lacroix.  Loved all of the ruffles, the sculpting, and the off the shoulder and strapless looks.  I also liked Jodie Foster's dress, but I didn't see a picture of that anywhere.  She must have arrived late or slipped in the back.  Most dresses were just "nice", but there were also a few misses.

Number 1:  Tina Fey.

Tina, Tina, what were you thinking?  The print?  The length?  The horizontal stripes?  The tiers??  Oh my, I have seen you rock the carpet before my dear, but this wasn't rocking anything!

Number 2:  Jennifer Garner

Girl, you know I love you, but you are too thin here!  A cheeseburger the night before may have helped.  You are stunning, but this color didn't do much for you either.  And where was your date last night?  I would assume babysitting, but Ben was definitely missed not being there by your side.

Number 3 - Marion Cotillard

What is this?  Ripley meets Madonna 80's?  I don't know.  The Gladiator shoes were not working with the hard lines of the dress, the long slit and the peek-a-boo lacy biker shorts!  Ugh!  If you are going to work a high slit in a dress, take note from the pros:

There was only one other catastrophe to report, except for one of the ushers stepping on Chloe Sevigny's ruffled dress - and that was the CLEAVAGE BRIGADE!  Lordy, Lordy...some of these girls needed covered up!!

Ricky Gervais was really funny.  Sometimes inappropriately so, but you kind of expect that on these shows.  Loved how he would introduce people also, giving them a little "jab".  haha

Of course the celebrities were all wearing ribbons to support funding to help Haiti.  Some stars have donated alot of money, which is admirable.  We can all do our part, but please only give to charities you KNOW that will take your money and actually put it to good use.  Samaritan's Purse and the American Red Cross are two of the top ones.  George Clooney is putting together a telethon to raise money next week.  Let's hope the money goes to a good organization that knows what they are doing with it.

So if anyone is reading this far and watched the award shows last night, let me know what you thought!

New Glasses

Well, I accidently stepped on my glasses today and twisted them up pretty bad, so I went into the eyeglass place and tried on some new ones, had them fix the old ones, and these are the ones I came up with. I like the top one the best - something a little hip and current. It was a good thing I made my eye appt. yesterday - pretty timely, don't you think??

Love is Blue

I sure hope that "blue" is in for this season, because it seems lately that is all that I'm buying for my spring wardrobe! I also got a gauzy blue print top today from Old Navy (they don't have a picture of it yet on their website) and I also got some dark blue jeans from Ann Taylor Loft. Lots of blue! It's going to be warm this weekend, so I hope to wear these outfits very soon.
